With a background in Architecture, Engineering and Visual Arts, Thabo is a Design Professional who works on brand strategy, design and delivery of projects. Her key strength is the melding of both right and left brain thinking to bring creative yet pragmatic solutions in all her work.
Thabo has led every aspect of design from idea generation through to project execution, and motivated large and small design teams across design disciplines from architecture and urban design to product and fashion design. She has worked on several incubator spaces that have allowed her to prove her ability to drive organizational transformation and implementation strategies for clients that seek to transform the way their teams work.
She is currently a Design Manager in Gensler’s Brand Design studio in Washington DC. She also serves as lead for the Firmwide Africa Committee, focused on developing an entry strategy for the firm in sub-saharan Africa. Outside of this, Thabo has launched a number of initiatives and businesses including Innovation Baraza – a technology fair for young entrepreneurs in Africa, Tatusi – a line of skirts and dresses made by a women’s cooperative in Zimbabwe, and the editing and co-authoring of the book Harare 2040: Towards a More Inclusive City.
