Biography

Julia’s career began as a Production Artist at Arnold, where she took every opportunity to express her desire to be a designer (which may or may not have included cornering Creative Directors in the kitchen). Within eighteen months, she was an Art Director and contributed to campaigns for Amtrak, Choice Hotels, and Bahamas Ministry of Tourism.

Julia is currently the Creative Director at Merritt Group, a firm specializing in creative, marketing and public relations. Her design team works tirelessly to deliver solutions to a client roster that includes Monster, Deloitte, Unisys and The National Parks Service.

Over the past decade, Julia’s work has received recognition from the American Advertising Awards, HOW Magazine, the Effies, the Hermes, and the Graphic Design USA awards. She loves reviewing portfolios, has served as a judge for the National Student Advertising Competition, and currently serves as an Advisory Board Member for the Communication Design department at Northern Virginia Community College.

When she’s not working, she loves photography, lake sunsets, Wheel of Fortune, and experiencing life through the eyes of her daughter.
