Biography
An attorney by training, Jamie directs Ogilvy Public Relations Global Public Affairs Practice. In this role, Jamie manages a network of 100 professionals around the world who assist clients with issues and crisis management, brand reputation and advocacy initiatives.
Jamie is a seasoned litigation and crisis communications counselor. He has worked closely with senior management at a wide range of clients in a variety of crisis settings. His litigation communications experience includes working on high profile cases for DuPont, MetLife, Signet, Chemours, Legends Property Management, among others.
His crisis experience ranges from advising the Government of Mexico on how to address concerns about violence to assisting DuPont on a range of challenging issues to overseeing the establishment of a Joint Information Center for an energy company after an oil spill. In addition, he has led crisis and issues management campaigns for the American Chemistry Council, BP, Cadbury, Johnson & Johnson, Lenovo, Luxottica, ZTE, Mirant, Allegheny Energy, The University of Chicago, among others.
He brings a deep understanding of the link between corporate reputation and the bottom line to these litigation and crisis assignments. He recognizes that how a company handles these situations will have a long-term impact on its reputation and he provides clients with the counsel they need to manage crises in a manner that mitigates reputational damage and helps ensure the enduring strength of the corporate brand.
Jamie is a sought after commentator on global communications issues and his articles have been published in digital and print outlets around the world, including The Huffington Post, Buzzfeed,The Washington Times, China Daily, Advertising Age and Public Affairs News in Europe. He is a frequent speaker on crisis communications issues, providing guest lectures at American University, Georgetown University, University of Maryland, Tsinghua University in Beijing and St. Petersburg University in Russia, among other venues. He also sits on the Board of Directors of the SEED Foundation as well the Public Affairs Council.
Jamie is an attorney and a member of the Maryland State Bar. He received his law degree at George Washington University and his bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Economics at the University of Michigan.
