Biography

Kristy currently serves as a senior vice president with Edelman’s Crisis & Risk practice, and as a member of the firm’s U.S. Crisis & Risk leadership team. She works with organizations to develop and implement communications strategies that mitigate reputational risk, and has particular expertise in the areas of labor relations and litigation communications. In her decade with the firm, she has worked across a variety of industries and sectors, providing communications counsel to professional services firms, universities, technology companies and non-profits.

Some of Kristy’s recent assignments include leading the communications command center for a company involved in multi-billion-dollar litigation, directing the communications campaign for a company involved in protracted labor contract negotiations and coordinating the rollout of an independent report on a university’s multi-year academic scandal. She also recently worked with Edelman’s research subsidiary, Edelman Intelligence, to develop and facilitate pre-trial focus groups for a trial involving the CEO of a global company.

Kristy has deep experience assessing and evolving crisis communications tools, processes and materials. She helped spearhead the development of an innovative approach to facilitating crisis communications drills by utilizing tablets to simulate the chaotic nature of information flow during a crisis.

Kristy is the prior recipient of Edelman’s Michael K. Deaver Award, presented annually to an employee who demonstrates superior team leadership skills. A native of upstate New York, she graduated magna cum laude from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a dual degree in communication and science & technology studies.
