Virtual Reality: The Evolution to Revolution

In each of the previous three decades, computing platforms have arisen that affect the way we live our day-to-day lives and interact with the world. In the 80s, it was personal computers. The 90s brought the Internet. In the first decade of the 21st century came the mobile devices that put powerful, connected computing machines in our pockets. Today, the consensus is clear that we are on the leading edge of the Virtual Reality revolution. Billions of dollars have already been invested in Virtual Reality by major companies, such as Facebook, Microsoft, Samsung, and Sony, as well as many venture capital firms. Whether you are in a technology-‐related space or not, a clear and in depth understanding of VR technology and content will be critical to your market. This session will cover the state of VR today – both its strengths and weaknesses – and future direction. It will also equip the audience with the knowledge to evaluate and implement marketing strategies that make use of this new technology.
